About Red Bull Ring
The Red Bull Ring, formerly known as the A1-Ring and Österreichring, is a motorsport race track located in Spielberg, Styria, Austria. The circuit was originally built in 1969 and was then known as the Österreichring. In 1995-1996, it was rebuilt with the track layout changed and was renamed the A1-Ring before being reopened in 1996.
After Formula One outgrew the circuit, a plan was drawn up to extend the layout. Parts of the circuit, including the pits and main grandstand, were demolished in 2004, but construction work was stopped and the circuit remained unusable for several years before Red Bull's Dietrich Mateschitz bought the circuit in 2004 and had it renovated. In 2011, the track was reopened as the Red Bull Ring and again became the venue for the Formula 1 Austrian Grand Prix in 2014.
The Red Bull Ring is situated in a natural basin and is surrounded by beautiful Alpine scenery. The track is characterized by its undulating nature, with 65 meters of elevation change throughout the lap. It features fast straights and challenging corners, making it a favorite among drivers and perfect for Porsche track days.
